Wealth generated through industrialisation and trade can fund essential public services such as healthcare, education, and infrastructure. Furthermore, economic advancement often leads to technological innovation, which can, in turn, be harnessed to solve environmental problems more effectively. For developing nations, in particular, economic growth is often viewed as the primary means of lifting large populations out of poverty. Ignoring economic imperatives could therefore lead to social unrest and hinder the immediate needs of citizens.
